Camping trip....

We took Bodhi on his first camping trip this weekend. Everyone was very excited!

We did a lot of walking. Bodhi got pretty tired out.

Then he did a lot of hanging out at the campground, relaxing and watching all the other dogs.

He was pretty tired out by the end of the day!

On the second day we headed out early. Everyone left tired and happy!

Chompers...

It's springtime, which means on walks Bodhi wants to smell everything.

He's also really into grabbing random sticks and things to carry in his mouth. This one really shows off his chompers.

Doggy playdate...

Bodhi had a playdate today with little Jaeger, a springer spaniel that my colleage owns. We met up at the library and the dogs had a ball. It's very hard to get good photos of two rambunctious puppies, but you get the idea.

Bodhi was pretty poopped out by the end of the playdate. He loved every minute of it!

Car buddies...

Well, Bodhi seems to have a new found independence since getting his cone off. He figured out how to hop the gate and get out of the bathroom and promptly did that as we were leaving today. We had no other choice but to bring him with in the car. He had his first car wash experience and became quite the car buddy with Chloe. I hope he doesn't think he's going to do this every time:)

Our poor little guy is not a happy camper. He has to wear this for 2 weeks!

First bath

With all the salt and dirty snow on the roads, we gave Bodhi his first bath. We walk him twice a day and being so low to the ground he just gets covered. He seemed to like getting clean.

Bodhi's story.

Joe has wanted a dog ever since our first dog,Toby, died when Lowell was just 6 weeks old. I wanted to wait until the kids were older and our schedule was a bit easier to handle a new puppy. The time finally came the day before Thanksgiving after having a conversation about dogs with Hope. Joe didn't want to miss this fleeting window of opportunity and went out in a snowstorm about an hour and a half west of us to pick up our little guy. Meanwhile the kids and I went to the pet store to get the crate, bed and other necessities. After about 3 hours of waiting, Joe came home with our little Bodhi, a 12 week old cocker spaniel.The kids loved him immediately, of course.He seemed to fit right in, hunkering down for bedtime stories from Lowell and he slept all the way through in his crate the very first night! We are thrilled to have him a part of our family.
